Throughout my career I have written copy predominantly for online settings including product descriptions on e-commerce websites, blog articles, email campaigns and social media post captions.
I have also written copy for physical promotional materials including flyers and brochures.
In my most recent role as a Digital Content Editor, I have had the chance to really focus on writing and improve my writing ability by writing articles for several radio station brands across the UK. This includes reactive pieces such as covering news stories with a quick turnaround, as well as other more in-depth content that covers features and events.
Working across several brands, I keep in mind which content is relevant for each audience while researching and writing articles about artists, music and other relevant pop culture.
I also write and update content about key artists to cater to what their audience is searching for to appear on search results.
I have written several pieces to promote celebrity guests joining presenters on the show, with content, quotes and angles that keep the articles different from other news sources' articles.
I wrote several pieces to cover a huge exclusive interview with Elton John where he spoke about his new album and final tour. This interview went across almost all stations, and was very significant for the brands. I tailored the articles to suit the different audiences, including pre-promote articles, and articles covering some of the key points from the interview.
The most relevant and exciting content is featured on each station's homepage, and several of the articles I have written have spent time on the page.
The articles are also shared on social media to generate web traffic and engagement.
